KARACHI: The country’s meat exports has declined by $48 million in the eight months of the current financial year (FY17), Business92 reported.
The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), in a report, has stated that exports of Pakistani meat has gone down to $140.345 million during July-January against $188.345 million a year ago.
In February-2017 alone, meat exports witnessed a decline of 42 percent. A rough estimate states that 169 million cattle are present and country produce 7300 million tonnes of meat every year.
While Pakistan’s exports were dropped, the international meat trade has registered a smart growth of 16 percent to $700 billion.
