Japan announces $7 million to support Afghan refugess in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Japan government has announced a contribution of $7 million to UN High Commissioner for Refugees and World Food Programme to support Afghan refugees and host communities in Pakistan.

 Ambassador of Japan in Pakistan Takashi Kurai made the announcement in a joint news conference along with Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch in Islamabad today.

The Minister said the interventions are in line with Pakistan government’s priorities to ensure adequate nutritious food to Afghan refugees residing in Pakistan.

He said the government is committed to maintain food, security and protection of Afghan population living in Pakistan.
