ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan says
the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa supports democracy.
Khan’s comments come a day after his first meeting with the army chief.
In a press statement yesterday, DG ISPR Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor said that
Imran Khan called on the COAS and felicitated him on his promotion and
appointment as Chief of the Army Staff (COAS).
Various issue came under discussion in the meeting, he said.
“I don’t want to divert your attention from Billion Tsunami Tree campaign by divulging details of my meeting with the army chief. But good news is he supports democracy,” Khan said responding to a question today.
