India announces installation of full-body scanners at Attari & Wagah border

NEW DELHI: Indian Minister of State Kiren Rijiju has said that full body and goods scanners will be installed at the Attari and Wagah border to check the visitors and goods entering from Pakistan.

According to Indian media the Rejiju told the media during his visit of Amritsar that the plan to install the scanners was made some time ago but due to issues pertaining to company supplying the scanners it was delayed but the now the work to install scanners will be completely soon.

There would be full body scan of the trucks entering from Pakistan.

On March 22 Rejiju had told the Indian Upper House that scanners would be installed at borders with Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
