Khawaja Asif breaks silence on Nandipur plant fire

ISLAMABAD: Federal Power Minister Khawaja Asif on Saturday broke his silence on
suspicious fire which gutted record of the multi-billion rupee Nandipur Power Project (News Update Pakistan).

Asif claimed that the Nandipur project record was set on fire to hide oil theft from the plant.

“We are holding investigations into the fire incident and it is proving result-oriented,” he said.

The federal minister pledged that the finding of the investigation would be made public.

He further said that it was a failed attempted to wipe out the record of oil theft from the plant.

On September 9, unidentified intruders destroyed the record of the oil purchases and multi-million
rupees payments in the security office of Nandipur power project in Gujranwala in mysterious circumstances.

The incident took place in the midnight at the office of the assistant director (security) in admin building of the project.

The incident when came into the knowledge of the officials next morning it caused panic in the
staff of the power project which was deemed as most secured and protected.
