ISLAMABAD: Son of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Hussain Nawaz, said on Thursday that there was no evidence against him, his father or his siblings.
Hussain Nawaz was speaking to media personnel gathered outside the Judicial Academy, where he had been summoned by the Joint Investigation Team for the third time ever since the probe into Nawaz Sharif’s offshore wealth began.
“I arrived here at 10 in the morning,” said Hussain Nawaz. “I was made to wait for two hours,” he added.
Hussain Nawaz said that he did not want to talk about anyone’s attitude. He said that if all matters went in accordance with the law then that was permissible.
“If things do not move forward in accordance with the law, then it will go to the Supreme Court,” he said.
Hussain said that he was not allowed to have a lawyer present with him when the JIT questioned him. He said that ever since Hussain Shaheed Suharwardy, only the Sharif family was held accountable.
“If no irregularities occur, then no evidence will be found against us,” he said.
Hussain Nawaz said that he had not received a summon and when he did, he would let everyone know.
