SAGODHA: The 9th Squadron of Pakistan Air Force has been declared as equal with 9th Squadron of Royal Air Force of United Kingdom.
British Air Chief Air Marshal Stephen Hillier was the chief guest of the event while Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman also attended the ceremony.
Addressing the event, the British Air Chief said that Pakistan Air Force has this honor due to its commendable role in the world.
Air Chief Sohail Aman on the occasion said that both the countries have wonderful history of Air Services and this step will further boost the capabilities of both the forces.
The ninth Squadron equipped with F-16 was formed in 1943 and led by Air Chief Marshal Asghar Khan in 1965 war.
Earlier, the Chief of Royal Air Force witnessed the fly past of four-ship formation of F-16 aircraft. Both the Air Chiefs also flew a mission in separate aircraft of No 9 multi role squadron.
It was for the first time that a foreign Air Chief participated in a joint mission with the Chief of Pakistan Air Force.
