Raheel Sharif IMA Head Appointment News
LONDON: Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR)’s spokesperson Asif Ghafoor
said that appointment of retired General Raheel Sharif as head of 39-nation
Islamic Military Alliance (IMA) was the decision taken by the state.
In his media briefing in London ISPR spokesperson said that Pakistan did not
believe in proxy war and wanted to restore peace in the region.
“Pakistan believes in friendly relations with India and Afghanistan and wants to
minimize tension so that peace could be established in the region,” Asif Ghafoor said
adding that Pakistan also wanted to establish good relations with not only Saudi Arabia
but with Iran as well.
Replying to a question ISPR spokesperson said that work on reforms in religious
seminaries being done under the Radd-ul-fasaad operation.
