ISLAMABAD: Former Interior Minister Senator Rehman Malik has been summoned by the Joint Investigation Team on Tuesday.
According to details, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) member was issued the summon by the Joint Investigation Team in which he was instructed to bring a report on the investigation into the Hudaibiya Paper Mills and other important matters on Tuesday.
Rehman Malik, however, is currently abroad and has excused himself from appearing before the team on the said day. He has requested the Joint Investigation Team to summon him on another date.
Rehman Malik has investigated Sharif family’s offshore companies and allegations of money laundering against them. He had prepared a 200-page report on the matter back in 1998.
On the other hand, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan has agreed to provide details of 45 companies including Hudaibiya Papers Mills Limited, Abdul Aziz Textile and Ramzan Sugar Mills in two days.
All records shall be provided to the JIT before the Prime Minister appears on Thursday.
