KARACHI: The Sindh Cabinet has given go head for the removal of Inspector General of Police (IGP) A.D. Khawaja.
The approval for surrendering the services of the IGP to the federal government came during a cabinet meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, a spokesperson from the chief minister’s office confirmed.
The cabinet also approved the appointment of Additional IG Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti as the provincial police chief.
The decisions were made after Auditor General Sindh Barrister Zamir Ghumro briefed the cabinet regarding the ruling of the Sindh High Court on the matter.
It is pertinent to mention that the Sindh High Court had suspended a notification issued by the Sindh government for the removal of the IGP AD Khawaja and also stopped working the newly appointed IG Sindh Sardar Majeed as well.
