SWABI: Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad continues across the country as a major terrorist plan to
hit educational institutions and judicial complexes has been foiled in an action of the security
forces in Swabi on Tuesday.
According to a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), at least five were
killed in an intelligence-based operation in Swabi and Malikabad earlier today.
The ISPR said the killed terrorists were planning to target educational institutions
and judicial complexes.
The two terrorists could not be identified so far; they are probably Afghan nationals, the ISPR added.
During the exchange of fire, Captain Junaid and Sepoy Amjad were martyred, ISPR said in a statement.
Officials said the martyred captain was leading the troops in the operation that was part of recently-launched Raddul Fasaad offensive.
Meanwhile, the army announced that five of the terrorists were killed.
Today’s incident came a day after five soldiers were martyred in a cross-border “terrorist attack” on three Pakistani border posts in Mohmand Agency.
Some 15 suspected militants were also killed in the operation.
