Transgender Murder Case News

KARACHI: A transgender woman was arrested on Saturday in connection with the death of a youth in Karachi five days ago, police said.

The suspect, Alhan Khan, was identified with the help of a CCTV footage and arrested five days later.

According to the police, Rashid, a Lyari resident, was trapped by Alhan Khan, who introduced himself as a girl on Facebook and WhatsApp.

A friend of the deceased said that Rashid went to meet Alhan after watching her videos and photos on Facebook and WhatsApp.

CCTV footage revealed that Alhan killed Rashid, put his body in a suitcase and dumped it in a deserted street.

Alhan told media that he had killed Rashid in self-defence.

“He was trying to kill me. If I had not killed him, he would have done the same with me,” the transgender said.

A police officer said that the suspects chose to kill Rashid after failing to scare him away.
