RAWALPINDI: Turkish Chief of General Staff General Hulusi Akar called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
Army Chief emphasized the need to further enhance the existing military to military cooperation between the two brotherly Armed Forces. He said that enhanced Pakistan-Turkey cooperation will have positive impact on regional security.
The visiting dignitary acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in fight against terrorism and appreciated launching of Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad for elimination of terrorism from Pakistan.
Commander of Turkish Armed Forces General Hulusi Akar also called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat at Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
He is on official visit to Pakistan in connection with 13th Economic Summit.
Matters of mutual interest with emphasis on geo-strategic situation and security challenges came under discussion during the meeting.
Both sides reaffirmed the resolve to further enhance cooperation between the two Armed Forces.
The visiting dignitary applauded the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in fight against terrorism.
Meanwhile, Turkish Chief of General Staff General Hulusi Akar called on Air Chief Sohail Aman at Air Headquarters in Islamabad on Wednesday.
They discussed matters of mutual and professional interest.
The visiting Turkish Chief of General Staff was also presented a Guard of Honor.
Later, the Turkish Chief of General Staff visited the PAF memorial and laid a floral wreath.
