LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has stepped up with harsh action and suspended Muhammad Ifran in his alleged involvement in spot fixing during second edition of the Pakistan Super League.
PCB said in a statement that charge sheet have been issued to banning him all form of cricket. Irfan has to reply the charge sheet within 14 days.
Charge sheet pertained that Irfan has been suspended for all kind of cricket related activities because he did not inform PCB regarding his contacts with bookies.
Irfan had appeared before the PCB anti-corruption unit in Lahore on Monday to answer allegation of him not reporting to the unit incident in which a bookie made a contact with him during the second HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
There were reports that Irfan took the stance that he could not report to the unit because he was upset due to the death of his parents, who passed away one after other in a space of one year.
PSL chairman Najam Sethi had given him clearance for PSL after news his involvement in match fixing, however following the PSL final the spot fixing prove started again and found him guilty.
