Spot Fixing Case News
ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has issued notices to four Pakistani
cricketers in connection with investigations into spot fixing case.
The notices were sent to Sharjeel Khan, Nasir Jamshed, Khalid Lateef and Muhammad Irfan.
According to Interior Ministry sources, the FIA directed the players to get their
statements recorded before its officials on March 20 and 21.
It may be added that the FIA is investigating the spot fixing in Pakistan Super League
matches on the directives of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
Earlier, Nisar had said that any cricketer found guilty of spot-fixing during the PSL will be sent to jail.
“If UK can jail cricketers for corruption, why can’t we do it,” he told media persons in Islamabad.
“This business of spot fixing is our weakness. We cannot let cricketers bring a bad name to Pakistan,” he said. He said that spot-fixing is not just a matter between the cricket board and few players.
